ShippingGeneral InformationOPT strives to keep our entire product line in stock at all times. On occasion there will be an item out of stock due to a backorder from the manufacturer. In these instances, we will get in contact with you immediately with lead times and options. In most cases OPT will be happy to split orders and OPT will cover all additional shipping expenses.Most orders will ship from OPT the same business day if placed prior to 2:00pm Pacific Time or will ship the next business day from OPT if placed after 2:00pm Pacific Time. If for some reason we are out of stock on an item, we will be in contact with you via phone or e-mail as quickly as possible. The vast majority of items on this website will ship from OPT, yet there are a few items that will drop-ship directly from the manufacturer. Domestic OrdersOPT will ship all of our products to destinations within the United States. We offer UPS Groundtrack, 3-Day Select, 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air options to most areas within the 50 states. All UPS options are fully insured and have tracking numbers. OPT also offers United States Postal Service (USPS) shipping options including USPS Priority and USPS Parcel Post. These USPS options do not offer tracking and tend to be slower than UPS options. They can be less expensive on some shipments and are also a good option for PO boxes.If you wish to check the shipping costs for an individual item, simply click on the “Shipping Estimate” tab underneath the product image, enter your zip code in the box and click the “Get Shipping Estimate” button. Our calculator will show UPS shipping options as well as all available USPS options. If you wish to calculate shipping costs for an entire order, you have two options. You can put the products in your cart and then click on “Proceed to Checkout”. Login to your account or create a new account. Once you have entered your information you will be brought to the shipping option page. This page will show the exact shipping costs for the entire order. The second option is to add the items to your shopping cart and then click the “Get Shipping Estimate” option. Our website will calculate shipping options for UPS and USPS (if available). OPT is pleased to support the international astronomy community and is one of the largest international telescope dealers worldwide! We can ship most of our products overseas, yet there are some restricted items that we cannot ship outside of the United States. Some of these restrictions are complicated, so if you have any questions, please feel free to call us or send our Internet Sales Department an e-mail. Free ShippingOPT offers free shipping on a large number of products on our website. Free shipping is available to customers in the 48 contiguous US states. OPT will make every effort to provide free shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and to APO/FPO addresses, though we cannot guarantee free shipping for all items to all locations. If we are unable to provide free shipping, we will contact you immediately and will not charge you shipping without your approval. Most free shipping items will ship via UPS Ground with full insurance. UPS Ground will be the default free shipping option during checkout. However OPT reserves the right to use the United States Postal Service (USPS) or a drop-shipment directly from the manufacturer when necessary.
