Stellarvue SV80ST ED APO Triplet Refractor Telescope
The ultra compact Stellarvue SV80ST telescope features an 80mm diameter, 480mm focal length APO triplet lens, outperforming many other 80mm ED and APO lenses by a wide margin. By using the most advanced glass types, including Ohara FPL-53 ED glass, in fully optimized air-spaced triplet, this apochromat is simultaneously corrected for secondary color spectrum, coma, spherical and higher order aberrations. Push pull adjustable lens cell is permanently aligned and thermally stable.
The SV80ST is also a terrific astro-photographic platform. Photographs taken with the SV80ST are stunning, thanks to the telescope's extremely high optical accuracy and fast photographic speed. Using zonal correcting non-equal internal radii, this lens is optimized to satisfy the most discriminating lunar, planetary and double star observer, as well as the most critical astrophotographer. This apochromat is simultaneously corrected for secondary color spectrum, coma, spherical and higher order aberrations. The final quality control check is a star test, on a real star by Vic Maris. Only when a lens passes this final and most important test, is it approved for sale.
The SV-80ST is the standard model of the SV80S, and comes with a 2" dual-speed Crayford focuser (non-Feathertouch), C7 case, F2 red dot finder, and a Vixen rail. This telescope makes an exceptional visual and photographic instrument. Visually, it provides stunning high contrast and mirror like color correction. Photographically it offers wide, flat, highly corrected fields. Using commercially available focal reducers, this telescope is capable of stunning wide field astrophotographs at f-4.9 allowing for much shorter exposures.
