Making Every Pixel Count DVD Tutorial - Volume 1
Learn the foundation for creating spectacular astronomical images in Photoshop! This video is the first in a series of tutorials that will lead the novice imager on a informative journey through the tips and techniques of manipulating CCD images. Volume 1 starts from scratch with a tour of Photoshop and its multitude of tools. The presentation stresses those aspects that are most commonly used in the course of producing dazzling astro-images. Clear, concise and immediately useful examples of Photoshop's unbounded potential will inspire you to revisit images you may have worked on in the past or perhaps motivate you to attempt more challenging image manipulations with future data.
Over 3.5 hours of material are presented in 11 main sections. Each section is followed by a 2 minute review that encapsulates the most important points. These are high quality recordings that can even be displayed full screen (native 800x600) with little loss of clarity. The DVD is menu driven so that you can visit each section at your own pace. Making Every Pixel Count DVD Tutorial - Volume 1 Reviews...
"Adam Block's DVD is one of the best efforts I have seen to introduce UIP's like me to the world of image processing. (By UIP I mean "Unsophisticated Image Processors" and I am one of them. I have taken thousands of images and have used programs like Maxim and Photoshop to process them, and they still come out looking like our dog took them.) The tools available are so complicated that I thought I never would get to "be one with them" -- until I used Adam's instructional DVD. It is wonderful. Adam brings his intelligence, his patience, and his professional care to the task of introducing the subject of image taking and processing. I strongly recommend this. Maybe with it I will someday no longer be an UIP." --David Levy
"Capturing image data at the telescope is only half of the effort needed to produce stunning images of the heavens. Image processing is the key to revealing faint detail in astronomical images. Adam has succeeded in demystifying Adobe Photoshop for beginning to intermediate astro-imagers." --Jason Ware
Note: This is a data DVD meant for display on a computer using a media player or web browser. Macintosh computers now supported! Photoshop CS or later is recommended. DVDs will not play on television DVD players.
