Baader Planetarium Laser Colli
Baader Planetarium has added a unique innovation to the laser collimator. The Laser Colli incorporates a viewable etched viewing plate which can be seen through the back of the laser collimator. This permits collimation of small diameter closed tube Newtonians, instruments that were difficult or impossible to collimate using a conventional single beam laser collimator.
Each Baader Planetarium Laser Colli collimator is individually lathe aligned for accurate collimation. The one-piece die-cast and machined aluminum housing guarantees a stable alignment. Its compact size and light weight make the Baader Planetarium Laser Colli an indispensable tool that is handy to keep in anyone's eyepiece box.
(For detailed instructions on how to collimate with theBaader Planetarium Laser Colli, visit our "Images/Articles" tab above and download the PDF document.)
Please Note: The Baader Planetarium Laser Colli can be used to collimate an SCT, however center-dotting the secondary is required. Some SCT users may not be comfortable with removing their secondary in order to mark it, but if this is not a problem for you, the instructions include a section on collimating an SCT with the Baader Planetarium Laser Colli.

Solid Engineering
I have two reflector telescopes and have been using the old fashioned way of collimating for the past few years. Since I travel quite a bit with my telescopes it was time consuming to re-collimate each time I set up for a viewing session. Now with Baader's Laser Colli it takes less than a minute to double check the alignment of my scopes and bring in amazing views of Saturn, Mars, Nebulae, and Lunar features! This gadget is well worth the money! Thanks Baader! |

Laser Colli
I bought an Astromaster 114 EQ. Could not get Mars to resolve to a disk. After trying several other products, I bought the Laser Colli. In less than 5 minutes I had the telescope properly collimated and that night resolved Mars to a disk. Easy to use, just be sure to center mark the primary mirror if it isn't already and follow the instructions. Great product and worth every penny I paid for it. The folks at OPTCorp were very nelpful also. |

Breaks down
Review Date: 10/20/2009 Reviewed By: Keir Bad Choice I had the same issue as the reviewer Keir. I bought one of these about 2 years ago, used it just a few times and then the laser started to fade. I also replace the batteries, but iwas not that. I would choose a different product. |
