OPT Free Lifetime Rewards for Members of Astronomy Organizations

OPT is excited to offer a membership program that anybody can join, whether you are down the road, across the country, or around the world from OPT!

Oceanside Photo & Telescope has been a member of the astronomical community since 1947. Throughout the years, we have supported astronomy clubs in the Southern California area by offering discounts on astronomy-related products. As OPT has continued to grow, our "local community" has expanded to include astronomy enthusiasts from all over the world! We think it's high-time that we include all astronomy club members everywhere in our discount program. If you are a member of an astronomy club or astronomical community website, this membership is FREE. Do you hang out on AstroClassifieds.com or one of the many other fine astronomy websites or groups? If so, you are probably a member of at least one of these communities...which are really another form of an astronomy club! Get the picture? Your only requirement is that you divulge the name of your astronomy club, website, or organization when you reach the Rewards section of the shopping cart. It's really that easy!

If you decide to join our Rewards program, you may obtain your discount whether you shop in person, over the phone, or via our website. Here's how it works:

• When you "buy" your free Rewards membership from this website, our internet sales department will be alerted, and any other products on the order that are eligible for the Rewards discount will be adjusted to their discounted rate. Please note that you will still get a prompt in the shopping cart to add a Rewards membership or put in your number...just ignore this section, or check "no thanks"...your membership will still be noted and a number will be assigned after we process your order. The receipt you receive via email and/or on this website will NOT show the discounted total. You will, however, receive a receipt with your shipment that does show the total amount charged after discounts. If you do not want to order any other products at this time, that's okay. Just put the free membership into your shopping cart and check out as usual, remembering to enter your club affiliation in the "comments" section at the appropriate time.

• You are welcome to call OPT at 1-800-483-6287 and place your order. The salesperson will sign you up and apply your discounts if you order any additional items...the same is true should you stop by the store in person.

• In approximately one week, you will receive a packet in the mail that will include your Rewards membership card. Keep this card in a safe place, as it is your ticket to discounts.

• The next time you place an order on the phone or in person, give your salesperson your Rewards number and they will apply the discounts. If you use our website to place an order, your Rewards number will automatically appear when you reach the Rewards section of the checkout process (if it doesn't, you will have the opportunity to add the number yourself). Again, please be advised that the total shown on your order will not reflect your discounted pricing. The discounts will be processed after the order is placed and the discounts will be shown on your final receipt. If you order by credit card, the actual charge will be lowered to the discounted amount. If you use Paypal, you will receive a refund for the discount amounts. Once you receive your package, you will receive a receipt showing the correct total. If you wish to know your savings ahead of time, just call OPT to place your order or email our internet sales department and ask.

Please Note: Even though this membership is free and there are no shipping charges, you will still be asked for a "method of payment" once you reach the proper page in the shopping cart. If you do not have any other items in your cart, and therefore your amount due is zero, please choose "Money Order" or "Check" as your form of payment, and it will go through just fine. Of course, if you have other items in your cart, you will want to choose your preferred form of payment as usual (credit card, Paypal, etc.). Thanks!
