Product Questionswhat is the heaviest weight that I can place on the back of it and still have the draw tube lock work? I have an Orion refractor and put an SBIG 16803 with STX FW7 on it. I can't keep the focus locked because the camera assembly weighs too much and pulls the draw tube out. So, I'm looking for a more sturdy refractor and they don't specify the max weight you can load on it. Thanks, Ken.Question by: Kenneth Bryant on Jun 26, 2015 8:32:00 PMThe manufacturer does not specify, but I would not recommend more than 5 lbs on this focuser. Your camera weighs too much for that without replacing the focuser with something heavier duty like a large diameter Feathertouch or other focuser (from Optec, FLI, or other manufacturers). You need a focuser rated for at least 10-15 lbs to really support the torque from such a large and heavy system. Please contact us if you have any questions.Answer by: Chris Hendren (Admin) on Jun 29, 2015 5:24:00 PM
