- What I wish I had known
I'm a bit new to quiding and I bought the 80mm guidescope and the nexguider from Celestron. I found out that the guide rings and the dovetail clamps where heavy and stout and the guide scope dose well. You will need to buy a dovetail plate to fit you scope so the clamps that come with the package will work. I had a ADM mini dovetail rail on my scope so I modified the ring to fit what I had. The Nexguider did work but I had a bit of a hard time getting it to do so beacuse the LCD display is not easly seen when the scope is pointing up. So much so I have gone back to using PHD guiding program with a loptop. I will keep the Nexguider for a stand a lone guider when I go to a remote site with out AC power.

Product QuestionsQuestion by: tony on Jun 6, 2016 3:04:00 PMQuestion by: Marcelo Ribeiro on Oct 27, 2015 4:38:00 PMCan this 80 mm Guidescope with the NexGuide Autoguider fit / sit on the Skywatcher BKP250 OTAWs? If yes, where does it sit? If no, what additional accessory do we need to buy to couple the guidescope? Also is it a good choice to go with this guidescope for faint ccd imaging?Question by: Amar Sharma on Jul 23, 2017 5:57:00 AMNo, you will need the wider Celestron (or other brand) D-series dovetail: https://www.optcorp.com/ce-94214-universal-mounting-plate-cge.html. This wider plate will need to mount to the top rings to allow this guidescope to attach. This guidescope is an excellent choice for guiding during CCD photography.Answer by: Chris Hendren (Admin) on Jul 26, 2017 2:34:00 PM
