Vixen R130Sf - 5" Newtonian Reflector Telescope on With GP2 Equatorial Mount and Tripod
This lightweight 5” reflector is a favorite of many new astronomers because it features remarkable light gathering with sharp images for its price and size. With a standard 20mm Plossl and a Vixen R130Sf Newtonian Reflector, more than the entire Moon fills the eyepiece. You’ll view innumerable star clusters and dark clouds, not to mention nebulae and galaxies. Add a 32mm eyepiece and the heavens open up with a remarkable 2.5 degree field of view! All of the stars in the Pleiades can be viewed at the same time. The visual observer will enjoy wide views of deep sky objects with a a Vixen R130Sf. Actual groups of nebula or clusters can be viewed at the same time with this instrument.
The Vixen R130Sf comes standard with the 6 x 30 optical finder scope and dovetail tube plate that fits very well on all the Vixen mounts. This is a scope you can start with on a basic user-friendly Vixen Porta Mount and later move up to one of our electronic mounts such as the Vixen Skypod or Sphinx.
Now let's talk about the Vixen GP2 Equatorial Mount ...
Proving that the goals of stability and portability are not mutually exclusive in a German equatorial mount , the GP2 mount's aluminum die-cast body is strong and light. Accurate tracking is accomplished with dual 144-tooth aluminum worm wheels and a brass R.A. worm gear machined to better than 0.002-mm tolerance. All R.A. and declination worm gears are individually inspected before assembly.
This mount comes fully equipped: metal setting circles, bubble-level, fine adjustment knobs for altitude/azimuth, and 3.7-kg (8-lb) counterweight are standard. Optional motors on each axis make this system complete for visual observation and tracked astro photography. Smooth Accurate Tracking with Vixen's GP2 Equatorial Mount. Vixen's GP2 Equatorial Mount is a platform for serious astronomers. This easy to use mount functions well for both the visual observer and the astrophotographer. The GP2 is an excellent choice for observers who want a simple, yet sturdy mount, with the ability to grow into a go-to system. Add the optional STAR BOOK-S for full go-to functionality.
Words on the Vixen R130Sf Newtonian Reflector Telescope With With GP2 Equatorial Mount Package...

Below you'll find a list of explanations regarding important accessories that may be required for this product. To add them to your order, just choose the appropriate items.
: If you wish to have manual slow-motion control for your RA or DEC axis, then you will need to add at least one manual clutch to your order. Add two if you want dual-axis manual slow-motion control. Remember, the manual clutch works whether or not you have motors on your mount, so you can decide to have no manual slow motion control, manual slow motion control only, or manual slow motion control in conjunction with motors.
: Add one motor if you want automatic tracking on your RA drive only. Add two motors if you want both your RA and Dec to track automatically. Remember, if you also want to have manual slow-motion control on either axis, you will need to order a manual clutch for either or both.
Finally, if you want to control your motors (important for photography), you will need to add the SD-1 (single-axis) or DD-1 (dual-axis) drive corrector.
