Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain Optical Tube Assemblies (OTA) are available individually to be used with your favorite mount. Each OTA is made to the same exacting standards as those used on all their high quality telescopes. All optical surfaces are coated with StarBright XLT coatings. These tube assemblies are equipped with the same dovetail mounting bar as used on CG-5 mount for easy attachment to a variety of popular mounts (see below).

Besides seeing all of the Messier Catalog objects, you can also see hundreds of other, less famous, but equally interesting NGC, IC and Caldwell objects. Turn this scope to the planets and see amazing detail on the surface of Jupiter; see Cassini’s Division in the rings of Saturn, and resolve details on the surface of Mars. Even the distant Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are within your reach.
The Celestron C9 1/4 is Celestron’s first new Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system in over a decade. The new 9.25” Schmidt-Cassegrain features a precision optical system with 2350mm focal length (f/10) and comes standard with Celestron’s StarBright® XLT coatings at no extra cost.
What's more, you have Celestron's guarantee of uncompromising quality backed up with a two year warranty. Celestron warrants your telescope to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for two years. Celestron will repair or replace such product or part thereof which, upon inspection by Celestron, is found to be defective in materials or workmanship.

Product QuestionsFor this telescope what would I need to buy to be able to use 2" eyepieces? About what would it cost and would it be worth the money and aggravation that might be involved? Thank you!Question by: Ed Close on Mar 17, 2016 3:00:00 AMNot too much money and very little aggravation required. Basic SCT compatible 2" mirror diagonals start at $59.95 for OPT's house brand (OS-D2SCT), and we and other manufacturers have various 99% dielectric diagonal solutions in the $130-200 range. You just unthread everything off the back cell of the C925 to expose the 2" SCT thread and then the rotating lock ring on the scope side of the diagonal threads onto the back of the 9.25" cell. Almost all of these diagonals include a drop-in 2" to 1.25" step-down adapter, so you can still use all of your 1.25" eyepieces as well without having to switch back to the original 1.25" diagonal. Some diagonals with 2" nosepieces require a $20-50 SCT to 2" adapter, but many do not. I'm thinking about using one of these telescopes for imaging. What's the image circle for this model? I can only find information about the edgeHD version.Question by: Agustin Garcia Ordoñez on Sep 3, 2015 2:58:00 PMThe image circle for the SCT is not defined as a field flattener is needed to properly image with this scope with anything beyond a tiny sensor. SCT's have a curved field and coma that is not noticeable to the eye usually but very noticeable with a camera. A CE-94175 f/6.3 reducer will give the telescope an image circle of ~28mm, and other reducers can flatten up to 35mm diameter image circle. Please contact us with questions.Answer by: Chris Hendren (Admin) on Sep 3, 2015 6:18:00 PM
