iOptron SmartEQ Pro
I've bought this mount for portable (air) travel purpose, and so far it more than meets my expectations. I am a bit puzzled by recommendation to align the polar finder for it to be perfectly orthogonal inside the axis (since most senior mounts have that procedure factory preinstalled), but apart from that everything seems to be OK for such a small ang lighweight computerized GoTo mount. It seems to me, competitors of this mount will not emerge anytime soon!

Questions & Answers

Product Questions

Can this mount be powered with an external power supply (a battery)? If so, what are the requirements on the input current (voltage, etc) and what is the size/polarity of the plug from the battery?
Does this have PEC?
What is the biggest telescope you suggest for this mount?
What is the latitude range of this mount? thanks
I have an iptron skytracker pro with counterweight accessory. It will not sufficiently hold my 7-lb camera/lens system without slipping (especially when pointed straight up - i.e., solar at noon). Can I mount the camera on this Smart EQ pro, and with what accessory? Is there a GPS port or computer control port? Is there a simple star-align or solar-align function, or must one align to polaris?
What is the weight of the tripod ?
Is the tripod included?
