Astronomik IR Blocking Filter - SC Rear Cell
This Astronomik infrared-blocking filter was designed for digital photography. When imaging with applications featuring low sensitivity in the UV like Webcams, Meade DSI and LPI, or most video systems, this filter should be used as standard. Apply this filter to the front of your camera to eradicate all problems caused by IR such as illuminated halos around all objects and an extremely soft overall image.

The filter Astronomik calls a UV-IR blocker is of higher quality than any other UV-IR blocker made by other companies worldwide! This filter was developed for optical systems with focal ratios in the f/0.5 to f/50 range.
The IR Blocker gives you the ideal parfocal filter. It obstructs all infrared light without adjusting the visual part of the spectrum. It's also a great way to protect your Schmidt-Cassegrain, Schmidt-Newtonian, Maksutov, or DSLR camera from dust. Furthermore, it can be used as a substitute for a UV-IR blocking filter if your camera has low enough sensitivity at short wavelengths. For systems that have any refracting elements, use this filter as a MC Clear filter alternative.
Imagers should consider employing a UV-IR blocker for cameras with high sensitivity at short wavelengths. MC Clear glass filters are appropriate for systems that don't have any refracting elements. For color imaging from light polluted locations, the CLS CCD filter would be most suitable for the luminance data instead!
