TPO 2" Crayford Focuser for Refractor Telescopes
This TPO Dual-Speed Linear Focuser for Refractor telescopes features the most recent innovation in focuser design to hit the astronomy market in recent years. Designed specifically to meet the heavier equipment and stability requirements of astrophotography and heavy eyepieces, the linear stability and repeatable quality of focus reached with this focuser will keep you coming back for more spectacular views of and sharper images of the night sky!
Built with an innovative stainless steel rail system that provides extended, consistent, and linear contact with the focusing mechanism and the inside of the focuser body, even when the focuser is fully extended. This constant contact prevents slop from building up in the focuser drawtube. The result is zero flexure throughout the focus travel range, even in the worst case scenario when the focuser is parallel to the ground and carrying a heavy load such as a large CCD camera. This new linear bearing rail system also allows for the use of heavier loads up to 9 lbs.
A 10:1 fine adjustment knob gives the user superior fine-tuning ability with remarkable stability for an extended period of time. The focuser position can be locked in place with the large thumbscrew on top of the focuser for critical imaging applications. The underside of the focuser features another screw to control the focusing tension. A laser-etched measurement scale in the drawtube helps with consistently rapid focusing. This focuser also has 360º rotation ability so that it can be turned in any direction for better observing. However, the rotation may not be smooth over the entire 360º as this is a relatively weak feature of this focuser.
Connects with refractor tubes via three M4 screws (not included) spaced 120º apart on the flange. Although, the original screws included with your old focuser will likely work with this Crayford focuser. To install, simply remove your old focuser before sliding in this new Crayford focuser and screwing it onto the OTA. Be sure to check to see if you have the ability to remove your old focuser from the telescope tube before you buy this focuser. Custom CNC machined from aluminum and black anodized for superior aesthetics in a dependable and durable unit.
2" extension tubes are available separately to provide enough out-focus travel to reach focus with all of your eyepieces and accessories.

Product QuestionsI am attempting an upgrade of Orion 80mm ShortTube refractor and i need to know if this will fit it ?Question by: Andrey on Jul 30, 2014 6:23:50 PMHello Andrey,
I spoke to the manufacturer & most of the optical tubes for the Orion 80mm ShortTube refractor are 90mm outer diameter. If your optical tube has this outer diameter, it will likely work given that the part of the focuser that goes into the tube has a diameter of 86.6mm. You will need to check this on your optical tube to verify that it is correct.Answer by: Roderick (Admin) on Aug 8, 2014 11:41:58 AMWill this focuser work with my Celestron Advanced VX 6 refractor? I will be attaching a Cannon Rebel DSLR.Question by: Elisabeth Snipes on Dec 30, 2015 6:28:00 AMUnfortunately, no. This focuser has an OD of 86mm, meaning it fits inside 90mm diameter tubes. You would need a focuser with ~96mm OD to fit the stepdown collar on the back of the 6" refractor. Please contact us if you have questions on focuser upgrades.Answer by: Chris Hendren on Dec 30, 2015 2:25:00 PMQuestion by: Glenn Newell on Feb 27, 2016 1:33:00 AMHi will this fit my 120mm Refractor I'm not sure of the brand but it the same as the Saxon 120mm x 900mm frac.
I think the connection is 86 mm at the point were the focuser meets the tube does that sound right.
also if this isn't available maybe the orion will do the same job I do want the linear bearing though
any help much appreciated. BradQuestion by: Brad Wilson on Aug 1, 2015 8:25:00 AMI recently purchased a Celestron 80mm Guidescope from OPT. I am not at all pleased with the stock rack and pinion focuser. Will this focuser fit as a replacement?Question by: PoppaChris on Sep 18, 2014 9:48:57 AMI actually tried this focuser on the 80mm guidescope & it will work (meaning you can use the three screws that are on the original focuser on this new focuser) but it will not sit all the way into the optical tube because if you put this focuser all the way in, the three screws holes are too far inside the tube and they will not line up with the screw holes on the optical tube. This could introduce flexure into the guiding system & not give you accurate guiding results.Answer by: Roderick (Admin) on Sep 23, 2014 1:23:35 PM
