Keep out stray and unwanted light from your XX12i Truss Tube Dobsonian telescope with a light shroud by Orion.  Keeping the path between your secondary and primary mirror will boost image contrast and brightness bringing out more details.  Constructed of opaque black nylon with excellent stretch, each end of the Orion light shroud has an elastic band to keep the shroud in place and allow for an easy fit and installation.  Breathable nylon will let air circulate and yet keep dust away, keeping your optics clear and avoiding any unnecessary pressure from the breeze.  A must have for the suburban observer where stray light abounds, this is also a great accessory for star parties to keep other's flashlights and equipment light from your view.

A light shroud is particularly necessary when solar observing and will keep the sun from inadvertently catching the primary mirror which could cause serious eye damage.  When installling the shroud for solar observations make sure there are no gaps and that you are also using a proper sized solar filter.  Take care to ensure that all protective caps are in place until the shroud and filter are properly installed.
