TVF6300 Takahashi 6X30 Finderscope
Are you ready for the legendary Takahashi optical quality in a finderscope? Then you're ready for the Takahashi TVF6300. Available without a bracket, you can add this magnificent finderscope to an existing bracket that holds a standard 30mm finderscope or one that accepts an outer diameter of 35mm. Originally designed for the Takahashi FS-78 and Sky 90, this affordable 6X30 finderscope takes quality to the next level. The focal length is 122.1 mm, with an f/ratio of 4.07. The Takahashi TVF6300 has a wide 7.5 degree field of view, and the 30mm aperture gathers enough light to match most standard star charts.
Do you need to focus? No worries. The eyepiece screws in and out of the finderscope body to achieve focus and a knurled trim ring locks it into place. What's more, the usable eye relief is an incredible 17mm for virtually unvignetted views for eyeglass wearers! Take a look... Inside you'll find extremely fine dark wire crosshairs to help you center the object in the field. Add a 5-year manufacturer warranty to the package and you've got yourself a very high quality finderscope!

- A Great Little Finderscope
I have this nice little finder matched with my TSA-102S. At first, I was afraid that the finder focal length was too short to be paired with the TSA, which has a focal length of just over 800mm. As it turns out, these two work very well together. I can center an object in the little finder and it will appear dead center in the Takahashi looking through an Ethos 13mm eyepiece, at about 62X. This is more than I could have asked for. Also, the coatings on the finder are what I've come to expect from Takahashi-- top notch. The focus mechanism locks, which is a nice touch. It would have been even better if you could use a diagonal with the finder, but thankfully the eye relief is such that you don't need to twist too much to get the full field of view.
All in all I am very happy with this finderscope. It was well worth the investment.

Product QuestionsCan this Takahashi 6x30 finder scope be retrofitted for dual use as a guide scope? If so, what parts/components would I need to buy? ThanksQuestion by: John Gordon on Jul 12, 2017 8:12:00 PMUnfortunately, Takahashi does not provide any documentation on this finderscope that would allow it to be used as a guidescope. QHY makes a 30mm guide scope that may be more suitable: https://www.optcorp.com/qhy-mini-guide-scope-with-mount.html.Answer by: Chris Hendren on Jul 13, 2017 4:44:00 PM
