Explore Scientific Illuminated Right Angle 8x50 Finder Scope
The illuminated reticle of the Explore 8x50 Right Angle Viewfinder is etched to with star patterns for polar aligning in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres.. The deep red illumination is continuously variable to provide the desired brightness. The Explore Scientific 8x50 produces a wide 6° field of view and allows precision focus of both main objective and eyepiece illuminated reticle. A precision polished roof prism produces images that are right-side-up, left-to-right correct. In other words, things are not upside-down and backwards like most viewfinders.

Product QuestionsQuestion by: Nicholas Izzo on Sep 20, 2015 7:46:00 AMNicholas,
The Explore Scientific finder, if it's mounted on the Explore Scientific bracket, can not be mounted on the vixen type saddle
because it has a different type of shoe. You would need to get a bracket for a 50mm finder with a
Vixen-style shoe.Answer by: Steve Thornton (Admin) on Sep 22, 2015 5:04:00 PMWhat image appears on the reticle? Can the light be dimmed and are there double circles or cross hairs present?Question by: ronpicc on Jun 20, 2014 6:30:53 AMHello ronpicc
The image that appears for the reticle is a circle with hairs on four outside corners of the circle (Used for centering) as well as alignment star patterns for polar aligning in both the Northern & Southern Hemispheres and yes. The illuminator can be dimmed & brightened.Answer by: Roderick (Admin) on Jun 22, 2014 11:07:31 AMI need to convert this mount to a vixen mount is there an adapter to turn this into a vixen mount?Question by: STANLEY FORTUNA on Apr 30, 2015 5:51:00 PMThere is no adapter from the included rings to a Vixen finder mount, but you can use third party finderscope rings from other manufacturers to attach this scope to a vixen -type finder bracket. Please contact us at OPT if you have any questions.Answer by: Chris Hendren (Admin) on May 4, 2015 5:27:00 PMQuestion by: Frank on Mar 26, 2016 2:36:00 PMThis finderscope has an illuminator that can be separated from the main finderscope (recommended so that you do not drop your batteries). Once this is done, hold the illuminator with the LED down, look for the white dot ad arrow on the side in the middle of the illuminator, and twist in the direction of the arrow to separate the two halves. The batteries are inside a plastic ring on the LED half. Carefully replace the small batteries and plastic ring before threading the two halves back together.Answer by: Chris Hendren (Admin) on Mar 28, 2016 11:43:00 AMCan this scope with right angle accommodate a 1.25" guide cam? If so, is the right angle removable to allow insertion of the guide cam or does the guide cam slide into the right angle?
