Product QuestionsBecause the two holes in the middle are 35mm apart I believe a Takahashi clamshell could be mounted on this. Because the holes are smooth pass through, how could a Talk clamshell be mounted?Question by: John Gordon on Jul 13, 2017 9:36:00 AMif the holes are 35mm apart, you could mount a Takahashi clamshell, but because you would need smaller 6mm or 1/4-20 screws rather than the 8mm screws usually used for Tak clamshells, you would need screws short enough to not scratch the tube when coming up from the bottom along with lock washers and lock nuts to allow the clamshell to betightened enough to not shift around on the plate.Answer by: Chris Hendren (Admin) on Jul 13, 2017 4:17:00 PMQuestion by: Anthony on Jan 23, 2016 6:00:00 AMYes, this plate will work with the SmartEQ mount, but due to the slope of the plate with the notch for the screw, this plate can only mount in an exactly centered position, meaning that the scope or camera will need to be shifted forward or back to balance.Answer by: Chris Hendren (Admin) on Jan 25, 2016 4:54:00 PMI'm looking to pair the Lunt 50mm solar scope to the iOptron SmartEQ mount. Will this mounting plate work?Question by: Anthony on Jan 25, 2016 5:05:00 PM
