- Very versatile item.
Bought this to replace a different, but good, "L" bracket on a Vixen Porta II. This was out of stock when I ordered the mount. This is the best "L" bracket I've ever personally used. The arm and plate come as separate pieces so one has a choice of where to mount the arm to the plate: forward, center, rear and even in and forward on one short side, and in the middle of one long side.. The two 1/4-20 standard are not attached and can be placed in a number of holes and three different slots. They also come with removable locking rings which simply screw onto the locking screws. For the slots, the locking screws will screw into the end of the slot to the unthreaded area of the screw when they will freely slide the length of the slots. The plate also has holes for 3/16" and 1/4 camera/tripod screws. It is large enough to hold good sized scopes. I have a C-6 on it using both locking screws in the outer long slot to attached the dovetail bar to the plate. The ability to use two screws to hold it provides added security.

Product QuestionsI have mounted my Tele Vue TV-101 on the Orion Versa Go III using their L bracket designed for this mount.
The set-up works, but I have been hoping to find a beefier and more versatile L adapter plate .
My questions are: (1) What is the load capacity for this Universal Plate? The Versa Go III itself is supposed
to be able to handle 18 lbs.. My scope with Star Beam red dot finder, an 8X50 finder scope, and 2"star diagonal
with adapter for 1.25 eyepieces totals 13 lbs. (2) Does the dovetail wedge work with the saddle of the Versa Go III?
(3) Is there a retraining screw set into the wedge to prevent the wedge from sliding out of the saddle, as there is in
the Orion L- adapter? (4) Do the 1/4-20 screws have locking tabs?
Thanks for your attention to these questions.

2. Yes, the Versa Go mount uses a Vixen-style saddle
3. Yes, there is a screw at the top to prevent the dovtail from slipping out the bottom
4. Yes, there are secondary locking knobs (they behave like the tabs) on both of the 1/4"-20 screws.Answer by: Chris Hendren (Admin) on Mar 16, 2015 3:24:00 PM
