AstroTrac PS01 Illuminated Polar Scope

The Astro Trac TT320 Tracking Mount needs to be correctly aligned with the sky to provide accurate tracking. The AstroTrac PSO1 polar scope makes polar alignment a quick and easy process! Using the high quality etched and illuminated reticule, just align on Polaris for northern skies and Alpha Eridani and an optional additional two stars in Octans for southern skies.

The reticule of the AstroTrac Polar Scope is illuminated by a red LED and the brightness is fully adjustable for user comfort. The red LED is powered by two small buttons cells (LR41), ensuring there are no wires to snag in the dark. There's no need for modifications to your mount... The Astro Trac polar scope is secured flush with the polar arm by powerful magnets ensuring perfect alignment and ease of rotation.

Adjusted the scope and have now use a supplemental spring clamp on the barrel. Scope is still easily dislodged, but the clamp keeps it from hitting the ground. Usable system now.

AstroTrac Polar scope
Had trouble first time using this scope. Mounting is not very secure and is easily dislodge with the slightest bump, sending it to the ground. I am looking for information on how to better secure it in the unit. seems like it could have been mounted to take advantage of gravity to prevent it from falling. I will probably attach some type of cable to it to keep it off the concrete.
