Celestron EdgeHD 800 .7X Focal Reducer
The Celestron EdgeHD 800 .7X Focal Reducer features a custom 5-element optical design engineered to maintain the flat-field performance of the EdgeHD optics. Unlike generic reducers, this premium reducer provides substantial back focus (105mm) to accommodate an assortment of imaging accessories.
The EdgeHD 800 reducer offers extra low dispersion, exotic Lanthanum elements which provide high contrast viewing while minimizing chromatic aberration. All air-to-glass lens surfaces of the .7X Focal Reducer Lens features multiple layers of coating for maximum light transmission and color correction, and has blackened edges to minimize internal reflection and maximize image contrast.
The aluminum housing of the focal reducer has been designed and CNC machined for precise spacing and alignment of the optical elements. Threaded metal caps are included as well, which will keep your reducer safe during storage and transport.

Product QuestionsWill this reducer work with my Celestron C8 OTA? I'm imaging with a Nikon D800 and would like to increase my FOV. I also have a OPT Crayford focuser in the optical train.Question by: Kelvinmack on Oct 25, 2016 10:49:00 AMThis reducer will not work a standard SCT. the filter and spacer that would best fit a standard C8 would be the Celestron F/6.3 Reducer Correct and the Celestron T-adapter for SCT telescopes. with these two parts you will be able to attach you DSRL without any issues.

If you are using a CCD camera or a different brand of DSLR, we can find a way to adapt a filter in the light path, but the situation is different for different cameras. I would like to combine this reducer with that setup as well as your 2" sct crayford focuser. Is this even possible? If so What would be required?
Question by: Alexander Arnott on Dec 25, 2016 1:10:00 PMUnfortunately, there is not enough backfocus to accomplish this configuration as the reducer takes the additional back focus down to 105mm +/-1.
