The Aurora Flat Field Panel, by Gerd Neumann, is a new light source technology used to calibrate digital images by taking flat-field images. These panels, which are sized to fit a range of telescope apertures, are made of thin electro-luminescence foil. When voltage is applied to the foil, they emit an even white light, which in turn produces a very broad, continuous emission across the whole spectrum that is great for narrowband emission line filters.
