DetailsThe perfect match to your monochrome camera, the 5 position filter wheel will thread directly onto your Celestron Skyris camera body and many other models and brands with the included C and T-Thread adapters. Weighing less than a pound (11 ounces) and with a thin profile, the Celestron 5 position filter wheel won't weigh your set up down making it an excellent companion for smaller cameras. This manually controlled filter wheel has an easy to use turn dial to switch from filter to filter and a handy quick release door so that you can swap out filters without disturbing your set up.
Get the most out of your monochrome CCD camera by pairing it with a filter wheel. Able to carry 5 filters, you'll be able to stack individual color and narrowband exposures for expertly processed images with maximum resolution. Quality construction, the Celestron 5 position filter wheel is machined out of aluminum and uses only high quality components, like spring loaded ball bearings. Accepts most 1.25" filters. Filters are not included.

- Best Manual 5 Position Filter Wheel I've Used ...
The Celestron Skyris manual five-position filter wheel is
constructed very well and is all aluminum, including the
rotating wheel which is threaded for the filters. The
front and back surfaces of the filter wheel case appear
to have been routed to remove excess material to
keep the weight down while retaining the strength
to support the optical train without flexure. There is
an oversized access hatch to easily change filters without having to disassemble the filter wheel. The inside depth
of the wheel accommodates the SA100 grating for low
resolution spectroscopy of point sources. The optical
train in my setup is a 9.25” sct, a focal reducer, an
off-axis guider, the filter wheel, and imaging camera.
The focal reducer to CCD distance is ~140 mm and
the grating to CCD distance is 55 mm, yielding
11.7 Angstroms per each 6.45 micron pixel. Thus,
the filter wheel makes it a snap to go from spectroscopy
to imaging with narrow band filters at a plate scale of
1.12 arc seconds per pixel.

Product QuestionsQuestion by: Tim Wilson on Nov 7, 2015 7:10:00 AMQuestion by: NIkos on Nov 30, 2014 6:58:13 AMHello Nikos,
Thank you for your question. Given that your Baader LRGB filters are 1.25 inch, they will fit into this filter wheel. The Baader 1.25 inch filters have threads that will enable them to thread into the carousel inside this filter wheel.Answer by: Roderick (Admin) on Dec 1, 2014 12:36:48 PM1. Are there basic T threads on both sides of the unit?
2. What is the effective increase in optical pathlength caused by the unit?
3. Is the rotating element that holds the filters plastic or aluminum?Question by: jan m. hollis on Apr 25, 2015 3:41:00 AM
