We’re pleased to introduce a new motorized filter wheel, with multiple filter capability. This new wheel employs exchangeable filter disks, allowing for multiple combinations, and has large 54mm openings on both sides. With these features, the Atik EFW2 can easily support sensors up to full frame (35mm) format.

The Atik EFW2 also features a slick design, with a slim and lightweight profile. For example, the distance between any Atik camera and the wheel itself is 0mm, while maintaining the possibility to rotate the camera to any desired position. Total extra backfocus needed will be only 22mm.
On the software side, the EFW2 has an ASCOM driver, so that any compliant software can control it. Comes with Artemis Capture software, for easy, simple and efficient operation.

For customers wanting to use this interface (2” slip-fit) with a focuser or visual back, no other parts are needed to attach the filter-wheel to the telescope. Product QuestionsCan this wheel also be advanced manually? For those times that I am using a DSLR, and capturing images to the camera, without a computer. It would be convenient to have all my imaging (LRGB and Narrowband) in one wheel for automated an manual needs.Question by: Paul Allikas on Sep 4, 2015 7:31:00 AMUnfortunately, this filter wheel cannot be controlled manually. It will need to be controlled via a computer and appropriate software.
On a second note, The 1.25" filter size is not going to be large enough to fully cover the sensor of a DSLR. Depending on the focal ratio of your telescope and size of the sensor on your DSLR, you're going to need a to use a filter size between 36mm and 50mm. In your case, I would recommend considering one of the Atik manual filter wheels that will support the appropriate filter size for your camera and telescope combination.Answer by: Jonathan Cheek (Admin) on Sep 4, 2015 10:15:00 AMDoes this FW include a filter disk compatible with 5×50.8mm, 5×2” mounted? Or I need to buy the optional filter disk? How much is it?Question by: EIJI on Jan 26, 2015 11:08:32 PMThere is a filter-wheel carousel (the portion of the system that holds the individual filters) included with each of the Atik EFW-2 Filter Wheels. There are versions to fit 1.25" or 2" mounted filters, and also 36MM or 50MM/50.8MM unmounted filters. This particular configuration (product-page specific) is for 1.25" mounted filters.
It is possible to acquire extra carousels, so as to either use more filters than will fit in one carousel, or to be able to use different sized filters.Answer by: Eric_B (Admin) on Feb 1, 2015 9:50:53 AM
