Uranometria 2000.0 - Deep Sky Field Guide
The three-volume Uranometria set contains 220 double-page star charts with a limiting magnitude of 9.75. More than 280,000 stars are listed using stellar brightnesses and positions measured by the European Space Agency's Hipparcos satellite. Thirty thousand nonstellar objects appear in the new edition, more than double the previous version's total. Galaxy lovers note: There are 25,895 galaxies cataloged. The Deep Sky Field Guide provides extensive information for more than 23,000 nonstellar objects and includes information on nearly 1,000 "challenge" objects not plotted on the charts.
For those who own Volumes 1 and 2, you'll find Volume 3 tabulates data of all the deep-sky objects plotted in the previous guides. It is the only choice for advanced amateurs AND astronomy writers. The deep sky field guide lists catalogue information for all objects contained in the other two Uranometria books. Objects are sorted by star chart number for ease of use. In addition to the catalogue data 23,000+ objects are listed with a short description
