Give your telescope a power boost! The Orion 1.25" Shorty Barlow Lens doubles the power of any telescope eyepiece it's used with. For about the price of a single eyepiece or less, this practical accessory effectively doubles the number of eyepieces at your disposal.
Orion 1.25" 2x Shorty Barlow Lens
It gets its name from its compact size. The Shorty Barlow Lens is just 3" long end to end—about half the length of a standard barlow lens. It's short 1.25"-diameter barrel is just 1.6" long, fitting easily in any 1.25" star diagonal, so it's great to use with refracting telescopes and Schmidt-Cassegrains. In fact, it works with any type of telescope. Takes up less space in your accessory case than a standard barlow, to boot.
The Shorty's 2x amplifier lens is an achromatic glass doublet that's now multi-coated to ensure excellent light transmission. The machined and anodized aluminum housing is internally baffled to eliminate unwanted reflections and increase contrast.
Enjoy higher-power, sharper images without eye strain, and get more mileage from your telescope eyepieces with the short barlow that's long on versatility. Try a Shorty on for size today!

Product QuestionsWill this help fix the focusing problem I have with an Orion XT8G telescope and an Orion SLR camera adapter? We bought the adjustable Orion camera adapter and ring for a Nikon SLR and can not get anything in focus..Question by: gordwait on Mar 11, 2014 6:23:37 PMA barlow is a good way to move the focal point outward and allow a DSLR to come to focus. I am not 100% sure that a 1.25" barlow would work, though. I know that using a 2" to T adapter http://www.optcorp.com/tpo-2-to-t-thread-adapter.html with the unscrewed lens cell of the TPO 2" 2x barlow http://www.optcorp.com/tpo-2x-ed-big-barlow-2.html works with an Orion 8" Dob because I have seen it work with a Canon DSLR. You would need to unscrew the lens cell on the Shorty barlow and then attach that to your camera adapter to have the best chance of success.Answer by: Chris (Admin) on Mar 12, 2014 12:39:18 PM
