ZWO Optical opened their doors in 2011 and offers a nice selection of entry-level CCD and CMOS cameras and accessories to amateur astronomers who would like to get into astroimaging without breaking the bank. ZWO cameras have since become known for their excellence in performance at a highly obtainable price.
Sky at Night magazine reviewed the ZWO ASI120MM Monochrome CCD Camera in a recent (2013) issue, and gave it four stars for build & design, connectivity, ease of use, features, and imaging quality. The reviewer, Pete Lawrence, summed up his thoughts on the camera by saying:
"The ASI120MM is a very sensitive, flexible and capable camera. It's an ideal beginner camera, whether you are interested in the Solar System or deep-sky imaging, as it allows you to test the water in both camps. For seasoned imagers, it's a great device to have in your imaging toolbox and -- with its 150º CCTV lens -- it's a lot of fun to use, too. For the price, it is an absolute bargain."
