OTA weight and can I use a short tube 80mm refractor as a guide scope?

The OTA weight of the 14" scope is 47 lbs bare, meaning that it is maxing out the 50 lb capacity of the CGEM DX (you are actually a bit over 50 lbs with the finder scope, diagonal and a 2" eyepiece added). You would not be able to add the weight of a guide scope for this setup without going to a larger mount.
Your guidescope needs to have a focal length of ~1/3 to 1/5 of the main scope's focal length. At 3910mm at f/11, the right guidescopes for the C14 would have a focal length of between ~800mm and ~1300mm. The 400mm focal length of a short tube 80 is not nearly long enough. An off axis guider is usually a better choice if you are at f/11, but if you use a reducer and a larger mount than the CGEM DX, a 90-110mm refractor with sturdy hardware could be used to guide.
