• Baader Planetariums has produced a top notch 2" 90-degree diagonal that features a premium quality Zeiss prism, all housed in a precision CNC machined Baader diagonal body. The Zeiss prism has acclaimed T-coatings for obtaining the highest image definition possible, and the 2" eyepiece holder features a brass compression ring and dual locking thumbscrews. And then, the 2" nosepiece is threaded to accept standard 2" astronomy filters (M48x0.75). Meanwhile, on the eyepiece side, the 2" eyepiece holder can be unscrewed- revealing an inverter ring with an SCT male thread (2" x 24TPI). Removal of this inverter ring then exposes an SCT female thread on the diagonal body. On the telescope side, the nosepiece can also be unscrewed, exposing SCT female threads on the housing. Hence, this diagonal can be closely coupled with an SCT telescope (using the optional SCT lockring) to provide the shortest physical connection for fork-mounted telescopes with limited base clearance. It can also be used with a variety of other Baader T-2 system components (sold separately) for various adaptations. On the whole, it's a stellar quality Diagonal and Prism, ideal for use with a very wide variety of other pieces and such- compatible with numerous T-2 system components and accessories, as well as providing premium quality optics as a diagonal.
