The Duovid Class: Two Binoculars In OneThe Leica Duovid is a high-performance set of binoculars with two magnifications that can be selected as required. The lower magnification provides a bright, stable image with a large field of view and a large depth of field. The higher magnification offers outstanding recognition of details of distant objects and in conditions of poor light. The balanced weight distribution and the perfect ergonomics combine to give an extraordinarily stable image despite the high magnification.
The Leica Duovid has a hermetically sealed, nitrogen-filled, and die-cast aluminum housing. It is therefore suited for rough outdoor use. There is no need to be concerned with moisture as it is 100% waterproof to a depth of 5m and the internal optical system is not subject to fogging.
Leica Duovid 8 + 12 x 42
These handy Duovids offer a double magnification change. 12x magnification is unique in a premium 42mm binocular, allowing the user to observe the finest nuances of any image.
The compact 42mm Duovid offers both 8x magnification, with a wide field of view and a shake-free image, as well as a 12x magnification, ideal for discerning additional detail. Like with the 50mm model, the patented eyepieces with two click stops provide optimum eye relief adaptable to the needs of the viewer. Changing magnification is done separately for both tubes by turning the two rings. With Automatic Diopter Compensation (ADC), the diopter value you set is retained even when changing magnification.
The supreme twilight performance of the 12x magnification allows for detail recognition in early twilight. As darkness sets, the 8x magnification is preferred with its greater image brightness and increased depth of field.
Two Magnifications...
The flexible binocular class with both high magnification and a large field of view in one product. High magnification for long distances and minute details. Low magnification for image stabilization and a large field of view.
Extreme Brilliance...
Extremely high resolution and a color-fringe-free image due to the Leica HighLux-System HLS™, an innovative multi-layer lens coating with Leica HDC™ and a four-lens objective with an achromat.
Easy to Use...
Automatic Diopter Compensation ADC™ : when switching between magnifications the diopter automatically adjusts. Multifunction Center-drive: comfortable, smooth focusing and easy diopter setting.
Robust...

Strong aluminum die-cast housing and soft-touch rubber armoring protect the binocular from damage, while at the same time ensuring secure handling of the product, even when wearing gloves. Functions perfectly under all environmental conditions from -25°C to +55°C, waterproof to 5 m, nitrogen-filled.
