Losmandy V-Series Dovetail Side by Side Plate

The Losmandy V-Series Dovetail Side by Side Plate is used to attach two optical systems to your Vixen-style equatorial mount.
- Mounting two optical tubes parallel to each other is achieved by rotating your mount's saddle plate 90ยบ.
- Saddle plate separation is 9.25", center to center.

The Losmandy V-Series consists of dovetail plates and other accessories that have the same dimensions as a Vixen-type dovetail, which is standard in the industry, for the most part. V-Series accessories can be mounted to many Celestron, Orion, Vixen, and Meade systems. The V-Series Dovetail plates can be mounted to the top and/or bottom of your tube assembly for mounting of all V series accessories, making it possible to use both sides of the tube for equipment. The dovetail plates, like all accessories in the Losmandy line, are machined for lightness and rigidity from aluminum stock, then black anodized for a tough, corrosion-free surface.

V Series Side by Side
The perfect answer for side by side mounting. Very heavy construction, well machined aluminum.
Out of the box, on to my Meade LXD75, mounted two OTAs, and they both were incredibly close in alignment with each other with NO adjustments at all. That's some thing I was afraid wasn't going to happen and that I wouldn't be able to use it until I ordered more parts.
The two set screws on each dovetail female bracket are nice. They grab the male dovetail very well with a positive 'locking' feel when tightened. They are also butterfly-wing type set screws with plastic coated ends which make for easy tightening and loosening in cold temps.
The V-Series Side by Side also makes it very easy to balance the OTAs over the mount head. In fact, it's seriously smoother motion with 2 OTAs on it than with just one in DEC travel. RA is just as smooth and not felt at all by the mount ... |
