Currently available to Meade Owner's in the U.S.A., Sky Assurance extends Meade's standard U.S.A. one-year limited warranty to either three years or five years on qualifying Meade products. With Sky Assurance your warranty is transferrable and there is a no-lemon guarantee. And with the advance three-way shipping upgrade (purchased separately), you can throw away your shipping containers, and through Sky Assurance your telescope will receive new cartons and shipping to Meade for servicing is prepaid.
Meade Sky Assurance Repair Plan...
Meade Sky Assurance offers two comprehensive repair plans for products over $200. The customer is offered a choice of a three- or a five-year repair program that is effective from the date of purchase and is inclusive of the manufacturer’s warranty.
If your covered Meade product requires service, the customer is provided with a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number, and then the customer would box and ship the product to a Meade Service Center at his or her own expense—return shipping charges are paid under this contract.

Meade Sky Assurance offers an Advanced 3-way Shipping Upgrade on all Sky Assurance contracts. Under this plan, the customer is sent a Meade shipping container with instructions on how to pack and ship their product to a Meade Service Center. Repair Performance Guarantee: The Performance Guarantee covers parts and labor costs due to defects in workmanship and materials (including normal wear and tear). If the product can’t be repaired, it will be replaced.
Transferable: All programs are transferable. There are no charges to transfer the contract. The original owner must request a transfer, in writing, from VAC.
Cancellation: The program can be cancelled at any time. The customer can cancel their contract in the first 30 days and receive a full refund less any claims that might have been paid. Cancellations made after the first 30 days are subject to reduced refunds.
No Lemon Guarantee: If your product is repaired for the same problem three times, we will replace it with a product of equal value of the original purchase price.
Customer Care Center: A customer requiring service should call the dedicated "Meade Sky Assurance" hotline at 800-291-3392. No contract number or original receipt is necessary when calling the hotline. The Customer Service Representative (CSR) will be able to locate the customer file by phone number or customer name. The CSR will help the customer resolve the problem with their covered product. If the problem cannot be resolved, the customer will be referred for service or issue a replacement based on the terms and conditions of the product being covered.
