Everybody in Southern California knows that the Giant Giveaway at the Southern California Astronomy Exposition is the best in the industry. Each year OPT asks our manufacturers to step up and help make SCAE a success, and they always come through with flying colors by donating some amazing prizes! The SCAE Online Giveaway gives amateur astronomers everywhere a chance to win a sampling of those prizes, even if they won’t be able to attend SCAE in Oceanside, California on July 17th!

The prizes for the SCAE 2010 Online Giveaway are worth a total of almost $9,000 and include an Apogee U8300 CCD Camera and filter wheel, an Orion Starshoot Deep Space Mono III CCD Camera, a Takahashi FS-60 Telescope with Tube Holder, and a Lunt Solar Systems LS-35THA Deluxe H-Alpha Solar Telescope. Pretty cool, huh? Here’s how it works: When you click the “Register to Win” button at the top of the page, you will be taken to the OPT customer login page. OPT customers who already have an online account with OPT need only login, and you’ll be automatically entered in the contest. If you don’t have an account with us, it only takes a few minutes to create one. Only one entry is allowed per customer. Winners will be announced on Monday, July 19th, and OPT will ship the prizes to the winner’s home at our cost. It’s that simple.
