Introducing the EdgeHD Telescope Series, Celestron’s new flagship telescope line...
Celestron CGEM 925 EdgeHD Aplanatic Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope
Celestron has taken another bold step as the market leader in telescopes with the introduction of our latest series of high-end telescopes. Since the moment Celestron first started producing Schmidt Cassegrain optical systems, they have continued to design high-quality optics with pride. After years of research and development, Celestron has now taken one giant step!
The Edge HD is Celestron’s latest innovation that will surely be the system of choice for the serious astro-imagers. The new Edge High Definition telescope series features an Aplanatic Schmidt optical system that produces pinpoint star images all the way to the edge of the field. Some optical systems currently on the market may produce coma free images. But there is a difference.... the optical difference. Not only is the Celestron Edge coma free, but it also has a built in field flattener to ensure sharp focus all the way to the edge of the field, producing true Astrograph quality images. This results in pinpoint, High Definition star images throughout your astro photograph.
These superior features combined with Celestron's recently introduced CGE Pro and CGEM mounts make the new Celestron HD series the new gold standard in Astro Imaging. The EdgeHD is an aplanatic Schmidt telescope designed to produce aberration-free images across a wide visual and photographic field of view. The optical system was designed to reduce more than just off-axis star coma, but also to give an astrograph quality flat focal plane all the way to the edge of the field of view.
Many optical designs that advertise themselves as “astrograph” quality actually only produce pinpoint stars across a curved focal plane. While this may be acceptable for visual observing, stars will appear out of focus at the edge when used with a flat chip sensor of a digital camera. EdgeHD optics produce a focal plane more than three-times flatter than a standard Schmidt Cassegrain telescope and dramatically flatter than other competing coma-free designs. This guarantees you visibly sharp stars across some of the largest CCD chips available today.
Now let's talk about Celestron quality...
The Celestron CGEM mount has a fresh, attractive, bold appearance and is capable of carrying Celestron’s higher-end SCT optical tubes (up to 11") securely and vibration free which is ideal for both imaging and visual observing.
Ergonomic Design - The Celestrom CGEM mount was designed to be ergonomically friendly with large Altitude and Azimuth adjustment knobs for quick and easy polar alignment adjustment. The internal RA and DEC motor wiring provides a clean look and an easy and trouble free set up.
Innovation - The Celestron CGEM series has a new innovative Polar alignment procedure called All-Star (patent pending). All-Star allows users to choose any bright star, while the software calculates and assists with polar alignment. Another great feature of the CGEM 91526, sure to please astroimagers, is the Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PEC) which will allow users to train out the worm gears periodic errors, while the mount retains the PEC recordings.
Performance - For objects near the Meridian (imaginary line passing from North to South), the Celestron CGEM mount will track well past the Meridian for uninterrupted imaging through the most ideal part of the sky. The CGEM 91526 mount has a robust database with over 40,000 objects, 400 user defined programmable objects and enhanced information on over 200 objects.
Celestron's CGEM 91526 mount is the perfect fit between the Advanced Series and CGE Series. Offering the portability of the Advanced Series and the precision of the CGE.
Superior mount performance combined with superior edge performance not only creates rounder, more pleasing stars but actually improves the resolution and limiting magnitude when compared to telescopes of equal aperture. When it comes to the Celestron HD series coupled with Celestron’s StarBright XLT coating group on every surface, EdgeHD optics gives you maximum light throughput across the widest visual and photographic spectrum... It's a vision you'll never forget.

- CGEM 925 EdgeHD Telescope and Internet Customer Service
This was my first "real" telescope purchase. Jason Farmer was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, not to mention very patient with me. (I had more questions and concerns than most, I'm sure, since it was also my first big purchase over the internet as well, Thank you Jason.) The internet customer service is second to none, All though the first scope I received seem to have a Manufactures flaw, Jason was all over it and had another scope on it's way immediately. I absolutely Love my Celestron CGEM 925 EdgeHD Telescope! The views are crystal clear. The CGEM mount has worked flawless. The versatility of the scope's mount and this particular size scope is not so cumbersome that I can't take it out and travel with it frequently. I also got the Pelican 1660 and 1620 cases which have proven to be indispensable to me, makes transport easy and eliminates worrying about damage to the scope and hardware. Jason and OPT are who I deal with and recommend to everyone. Thank you Jason and OPT for a comfortable and exciting experience all around!

- CGEM 9.25 Edge HD
Traded in my 8 Meade LS on this and couldn't be happier! Michael West asked all the right questions to get me into the scope I needed. His help was much appreciated. This time I didn't feel like I wasted my money on something I didn't want. OPT made sure I got the scope I wanted and the accessories I needed. Thank you OPT and especially Mike West.

Product QuestionsHello, this scope comes with two counterweights, doesn't it? Another question, The CGEM has the latitude range from 15ª Is there any way for adjusting it to 13ª (my latitude)?? Perhaps lowering one tripod leg slightly? What do you think? Thanks in advance!!Question by: David Rivas on Jun 27, 2015 3:15:00 PMYes, the CGEM 9.25 comes with a 17lb and an 11 lb counterweight. I would recommend raising the rear leg by 2-3 degrees and adjusting the mount to drop slightly below 15 degrees. If you worry about stability, strap a temporary weight to the rear leg and you should be fine. a 2 degree tilt on the tripod will not cause an issue.Answer by: Chris Hendren (Admin) on Jun 29, 2015 5:28:00 PMIs there an accessory available that will allow a DSLR to be attached piggyback to the optical tube?
