Stellarvue Nighthawk Telescopes have a proprietary
lens which is hand-figured, high precision and is free of wedging.
Designed to provide unmatched performance! The lenses are optically
aligned and then edged to ensure alignment accuracy. This is the
better way to make a quality glass. The accuracy of figure and
mounting technology the folks at Stellarvue use costs them a bit more
but it provides better control in production. In addition, the
Stellarvue achromat provides a very flat field and excellent
photographic correction. Stars will not appear as blue globes but show
their true color. Attaching a camera to the Stellarvue Nighthawk Telescope, will put you in
command of an exceptional telephoto lens rivaling the performance of
more expensive telephoto lenses. The lens is mounted in an all
aluminum lens cell assembly (no plastic). The cells use an eight screw
push pull system to adjust and permanently maintain optical alignment.
Each lens surface has a true full multi-coating for maximum light
transmission. Each element is edge blackened to increase contrast.

Stellarvue ED Telescopes include a zygo and
star-tested clear aperture, air spaced, doublet objective using an
extra low dispersion ED glass in the rear element, providing zonal and
color correction on par with similarly sized doublet ED APO lenses. Stellarvue ED Telescopes are a great value for the
money and significantly outperform anything else in their current
price/size/speed range. Using more advanced glass types and a unique
design, the latest in Stellarvue's Nighthawk ED series is the answer
to less expensive telescopes using ED glass. This is not an
inexpensively made telescope! The Next Generation Deluxe represents an
extremely high level of mechanical quality which does justice to their
exceptional optical systems.The deluxe version includes the venerable
American-made Feathertouch focuser. This provides the smoothest, most
consistent performance, and has the greatest lifting capacity.
Stellarvue ED APO Telescopes employ the most
advanced glass types and a fully optimized air-spaced triplet design,
simultaneously corrected for secondary color spectrum, coma, spherical
and higher order aberrations. The triplet lens uses a very high
homogeneity Super ED glass, full multi-coatings on all six surfaces,
zonal correction to satisfy the most serious lunar, planetary and
double star observer. Stellarvue ED APO Telescopes are made with solid
aluminum and precision machined on both manual and cnc equipment.
Their heavy, thermally equalized, push pull lens cells help ensure
stable alignment and excellent performance under both normal and
extreme conditions. Using 1/8" thick, machined aluminum tubing and
over sized aluminum and stainless fittings, the optical path remains
fixed, maintaining the integrity of our world class optics. Each tube
assembly is fully baffled and treated with ultra flat black interiors
for maximum contrast.
